Elevating Your Aesthetic

I get dressed every day (applause). I don't put on a stunning outfit everyday, I promise. Most days, it is work out clothes or cut offs (I am fully aware that a woman of my age should likely not be wearing cut offs anymore, but I feel the need to buck the system on this one. They aren't cut like "under-pinnings", they are cut to a length that a grown woman should wear). I was raised in the deep south...and denim on the bottom is a staple, short or long. But sometimes, I up my game a notch... not for carpool, not for a bike ride with my kids... but anything that may entail taking a shower (applause). I love to grab my favorite pieces of jewelry and grab an outfit to build around that piece...or, put on my easiest, go-to comfort clothes and elevate my outfit with a statement necklace or earrings. It makes me feel put together and complete...plus a little extra artsy.

I have an inner rebellion against anything that "everyone else has", unless it's utilitarian, like a good pair of cowboy boots (or an amazing silk black jumpsuit). I love the feeling of individuality, that I can stand out with out being crazy. You know?
